Subject: Flowmaster 50 Series SUV? IP: Logged
Message: Anybody have one their sixer? I was just curious as to how these sound compared to the 50 series Delta Flows. I want something that sounds decent but not extremely loud that's why I'm going 50 series. Just stuck in between the two right now. Any input would be helpful. Thanks.
BTW: I don't mean to drag this topic on. I'm sure you guys have heard it a 1000 times before. Just looking for some helpful advice.

Message: if you are looking for not so much sound on the interior then you should go with a delta flow. No matter which you get it will be noticably louder.

Message: Whatever you do, do not put the 50 series SUV. I put it on and a few weeks later it came right off. It was not loud but at acceleration it sounded like a honda civic racing down the street. I got a Dynomax and it sounds great!

Message: I have the 50 delta flow, thought would be quieter than 40. between 1800-2000rpm is annoying.
otherwise not too bad. sounds good outside, noticeable inside. I think would trade it for a dynomax to try it out.

Message: Thanks for the response guys. Haven't been to the board in a while, but just as an update I installed the 50 series Delta Flow. Not a bad muffler at all. It's the perfect level of sound that I was looking for. Not too loud, not too quiet. I do know what you guys are talking about in regards to the honda sound though. I don't mind it all that much, as a matter of fact it sounds pretty unique in a way. Great burbles on deceleration :)

Message: I have a magnaflow and I can relate EXACTLY on the Honda sound at EXACTLY the same RPM. Thats strange that someone else noticed the same thing. I am thinking about changing to a Dynomax since they supposedly sound better. If any of you could record the sound of a different mufflers on your 3.9, I would be Very Interested in hearing it.

Message: The Dynomax is great for sound, not too loud with a nice deep but mellow sound. I noticed it was quieter too than the Flowmaster in the cab. I installed P/N 17734 and I think it's great.
