Subject: supercharger intake fans on ebay? IP: Logged
Message: Ebay is going crazy with these little electric supercharger fans that fit into your intake tube behind your filter cone. I would honestly think that our engines could pull in more air than these little 12 volt electric vans could push in....They make them for 4 inch cold air intake tubes, but do they really add 20 hp at the flip of a switch? I doubt it, but I am just looking for some professional input.... They do seem to have a good idea going with these though. If I got a bigger electric motor (from a small shop vac) and added a 6"+ tube to my 4" intake and put the fan inside of it.....hmmmm, connected to a second battery,... maybe.

Message: a fan wont do anything but restrict air... if it compressed air like a supercharger or turbo then that would be a different story

Message: The only fans I know that is even possible of moving that kind of air and compression is possible costs about 45K, but that’s an airplane part and it spins at 63,000rpm with 28v and a 50amp circuit.
The Ebay fan is crap.
