hmmmmm... i dont know if a flash would fix that. From what i have read between 97 and 98 the odometers went from analog to digital (but not all 97s) and the speed sensor went to the rear differential (old gear driven style in the tranny on the 97)... You should just buy a mopar performance computer for a 97 V8 motor. That way you get the correct computer and a better computer... and that would be a lot less than flashing on of the ones you already have.
I dont think the dealer will take anything used but it doesnt hurt to try...... if not you know where to go......... eBay baby!!!!!!!!!

computer is a good idea.
What a concept - to make some money off
ebay instead of spending it! I should have lots
of spare bits and pieces soon :)

I've never used paypal, do you guys use it?
I bookmarked "mopar engine parts" search... very dangerous! There are aluminum heads, new comp cams and pistons on there right now. Thank God that 610 hp hemi crate is gone. :)

It's going to be quite a while before I get that
motor into my dak. I will sell the 98 8 cyl. pcm
for it, dunno about the wiring. As for the 6cyl.
parts, I'll need them for a while. I'll let you
know.

Once a PCM is "flashed" with the VIN...you can't re-flash it.
