I totally agree with you, my buddy had a 70 chevy pick up with a stright 6 and that thing just ran, no matter what he threw at the pig she performed. Great old chevy truck engine.

Message: I think it's quite obvious that you hate your Dakota. Good for you! We love ours and are quite frankly getting tired of your whinning. You bought the darned thing, either live with it or go trade it in. Either way, we are tired of hearing how you screwed yourself by buying a V6 4x4 Automatic and expecting it to go fast.
Trade your Dodge in on a Trailblazer, or maybe a Honda, or whatever. Just stop your whining, everyone is tired of it. Critisism of the Dodge's is just fine, as long as it's constructive. Yours is like the 5 year old kid in the sand box who isn't getting a chance to play with the bulldozer toy because the other kids are hogging it, completly ignoring the toys you -do- have.
I've had several cars so far, and I've come to the conclusion that if you don't like a car, it's best to get rid of it because you will -never- be happy. Get rid of your Dak and buy something else, it might be a used beater, but at least you won't have your hated dakota! Someone else can buy it and enjoy it for what it is, a 4x4 -truck-.

Message: Slightly off topic but when are they putting the 3.7L in the dakotas? Don't know if they will be much of an improvement though. They took that big HP number and very little in TQ gain approach. And I do have to ask LI blackdak, if you got the 4x4 why did you get the V6? I think the V6 does a respectable job with a 4x2 but you're asking too much from it in a 4x4.

Message: Hey Brad
I own a 2002 CC V6 3.9L 4x4
and I think its great as a 4x4. it takes everything I give it with out a problem. But like I was going though 4ft of mud or 50% Grade on lose sand I'd prb have a problem.
I mean I'd like to have more horsepower but after a few mods
TB Spaser- Pending
Cold Air intake- Complete
Custom Exaust-Pending
New Spark Plugs- Pending
etc
I'd be just as good as a V8 but w/o the badd gas milage
My $.02

Message: Don't do that TB spacer... just thought I'd tell ya. All it'll do is make a sucking noise.

"I'd be just as good as a V8 but w/o the badd gas milage"
i basically have all that stuff and all i have to say is....bahahahahahahahahahahaahahahaha.
ive got airaid intake, gibson catback, autolite plugs. big difference from stock no doubt(although only the intake made a low end difference, u can feel the exhaust on the highway a bit(wouldn't recomend it unless u plan futher upgrades cause just a catback doesn't do anything impressive, intake is good though) spacer is a huge waste...at least get the jet spacer, nobody has said anything about that yet.
but in order to have V8 matching power ull need headers, 1.7 rr, new tb, jet chip, ignition system.... probably more.
better milage??? then what??? 5.2 and 5.9...yeah by 1 mpg and guess what 4.7 will match or out do the 6 on the highway especially.
i dont know what your smoking.. and people who hate me...you have to admit im right on this one!!!

Message: Can't argue with you on the mileage blackdak. My brother had a CC V6 and I have a RC V8. He got rid of his because I was getting better gas mileage! I admit the CC has few hundred pounds more but he had the 3.55 and I have the 3.9's. It's too bad they couldn't have done a little better job from the factory for this engine. Obviously people can get power from it.

Message: 6 will probably get better milage in lighter ones, but 4x4s need 8s to move them somewhat easily
