Message: This is going to sound f'd up, but Is there a way for me to tell what rear-end and type (Open Differential or Limited Slip Differential ) and do any of ya have a good choice of rear-ends?
Thanks

Message: there is several ways to tell if it is limited slip or not.
1. read the tag on the driver side axle tube, it should give gear ratio and tell you if it is open or not
2. read the tag in the glove box....
3. jack the rear tires off the ground, spin one tire and if the other spins in the opposite direction you have an open diff.
4. go do a burnout and see how many tires break loose ;-)

Message: well if needed to know what rear i had i would definitley choose number 4 to find out what i have, lol, if your going to replace your rear powertrax makes a pretty good one, i also heard (key word "heard") that mopar performance makes one for the 8.25 rear that works well in gen 3's

Message: Flamered01 is right that mopar performance makes a good lsd(limited slip diffrential) because that is the lsd that comes factory in the factory lsd rearend. but is wrong in one respect, they do make them for the gen three but it is for the 8 3/4" rear end not the 8 1/4" rear end. they stopped putting 8 1/4 in the dak when the gen 3's came out. but many(all?) of the dak 4wd and r/t's are 9 1/4 i think or 9 3/4 i know its 9 and something lol. but this sucks for us gen 3 drivers cause summit has the mopar performance lsd's and the one for the 8 1/4 is like 260$ and the 8 3/4 is 560$ big diffrence. well hope this helps you out.
