Subject: Bernd.. question about Intense intake IP: Logged
Message: Bernd,
I just purchased my first dakota, (i love it) I have been all around this site and your site. My question is as follows.
What intense intake is best for my truck?
7or9in powerstack or
7or9in big mouth
Part numbers if possible
and
how do these compare to the other after market intakes? Hp Tq ect..
My truck is compeletly stock now.... this will be my first upgrade
Future mods include
180 t-stat
Gibson catback single
and Jet Chip Stage II
RC 2002 3.9L
Thanks
and any other suggestions

Message: The 7" BigMouth (Stage-II) is more than adequate for the V6...I run it myself on my '97 V6 (modified engine...even before the rebuild with a supercharger and nitrous).
Comparing it to the other intakes isn't really worth it as most are within 1-2HP of each other. That 1-2HP isn't enough to make a difference at the track as wind resistance, track conditions, or tire slippage (or even mis-shifts) can cause worse results.
