 Subject: fan clutch

my 1994 dakota fan is wobbling, and making a clanking noise. i am positive it is the fan clutch. has anyone tackled this before. i called a part store and they want 65 bucks. thanks for any help. jason.

If it is the same as my '96, it is not hard to replace. You will need a 1 7/16" open end wrench to remove the fan and clutch. The threads are left hand. Remove the bolts holding the fan to the clutch and bolt it to the new clutch, then reinstall the unit on the waterpump.
Double check the wrench size, but I am sure that is the right size.
