Message: Hey Pistol I did an update a couples of weeks ago
http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/v6/1756.html
Now have about 700+ miles and doing great, when I did the RR's I had the plugs out so I thought I'll put the famous Autolite 3923's in, after reseting the PCM and letting it learn things I still had a slight stumble and rough idle I put up with it till last week, that's when I pulled the autolites and put the champions back in don't ask me why but that solved the problem. I don't know if it has to do with the 2000+'s having the timing death flash or what? Maybe the autolites were to cold for it?

Message: Dan, glad to hear the rockers are working out...I'm real interested in doing them for my '02, but I only have 147 miles on it right now, and I don't want to get too anxious and start yanking stuff off of it just yet. Thanks for the info on your experience with the 3923's...I sometimes wonder just how much of the stuff I read on these boards really works and is worth the trouble. You seem to offer straightforward, useful information, and I feel that I can trust your experience. I'm unfamiliar with your reference to the "timing death flash"...what are you referring to, exactly? I take it it has something to do with the PCM? Have a great weekend...

The Death Flash, Have you ever noticed that our newer trucks never seem to ping. I don't have any timing specs on our trucks but it is possiable that the factory has retarded the timing in order to reduce this.
This from KRC's web site
"The Death Flash Tip"
Do you have a 2000 or newer truck that no PCM is offered for or the dealer pulled 4 degrees of timing out of, with the DRBIII to keep your truck from having detonation or pre-ignition problems, and now the truck is a pig? Sluggish and generally will not spin the tires from a stoplight, even with a 360?

Message: Intense, thanks for the info on your truck! I've been reading the posts you've been leaving about all the work that you and Bernd have been doing on it. These rockers are something that I think I'm definitely going to do down the road a bit.
Dan, I haven't driven my truck enough yet to get a feel for exactly how it reacts, but this "death flash" thing on the newer trucks is something that I'm interested in learning more about. Thanks again!

Message: Intense, I might've misunderstood. I read a thread a while back that sounded like you spent a day or two at Bernd's, working on your truck, so I thought you had enlisted his help on a regular basis. I was almost jealous, wish I had a resident Dak expert around here!

Message: hehehe... he helped me try to figure out what was wrong with my truck but for the most part we goofed off. Put a sticker on my windshield and relocate my IAT... Now i did spend the day down there... we also replaced his injectors, toms injectors, starred at the twin turbo rt, talked awhile.... for the most part he was lowering some guys truck and messing with computer stuff... email.... questions.. taking orders.
I like to do all my work on my dak but i do talk to bernd a lot to get help..... just ask him about the shift kit!
over all i didnt get to do all that i want to do to my truck but money is the limiting factor
