Message: All this talk about fuel injectors has me thinking of changing mine. What color are the stock injectors in a 99 3.9? I bought my truck used and don't know if what's in it now is stock.
Thanks

Message: according to http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injector_Sets.asp, the pink are 21 pound injectors.
Which leads to why I am restarting this thread.
I went to change my injectors in my truck today. Never really got into the swap until today. 98 V6 Magnum......my injectors that are on the truck now are pink. So either someone swapped them all ready or this is a mistake?
Anyway to tell for sure if these injectors are factory original or have been replaced?
If these injectors are indeed better than the ones I was going to swap..then I have a set of 8 number 19 FMS injectors I will be selling soon.
Thanks for the help

Message: Okay, now I am confussed. You tell me to keep the FMS #19 injectors....but the ones in the truck are supposedly #21 then.
According to http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injector_Sets.asp , black/pink are #21lb injectors. Aren't all fuel injectors color coded the same way?
If that is true, then the ones in our trucks now are suppose to be better than the #19s, right?

Message: if you have a 98 dodge dakota it has 19 lb injectors.... the 2001 and newer had the 21 lb.
the stock 1998 dodge dakota injectors are black and pink..... i will take a picture if need be. Keep the 19 lb fms (orange/black) because they are better flow rated and.... who wants pink on their truck? ;-)

Message: Thanks for the help. My confusion was due to my current ones being pink, like some of the rest of you. It's great to get answers to these questions.
Dodgeboy- thanks for the offer but I'll be waiting a while to buy injectors. Just found out my one kid is going to spend a year overseas at college and I'd said I'd help pay. Sometimes priorities suck.

Message: Okay, this clears things up for me then. So the FMS injectors are better than the stock ones, even though they are flow rated at #19.
Okay...so if 19 is good, than 21 is better right? So what would better flow rated injectors do for my V6? Or should I just install the ones I have now and say forget it and be done with it.
Thanks.

Message: Mark,
i believe the 21 lb injectors are a different style for the newer daks 2001+
the better flow rate has helped some people with midrange power, smoother idle, effeciency.... but i really dont know.. i put the 24 lbers on because of the s/c

Message: just remember to oil the o-rings before install to make a seal. Another tip: unplug fuel pump relay and start truck to get rid of fuel pressure
