hey guys, I have a 2001 cc sport 3.9l, auto-4 gear.

i have done alot of mods on this truck and now i can lay black marks on pavement. The thing is, when i leave black marks there are 2 of them, but when i'm driving there is only 1 spinning.

does our daks have limited slip or something?

Daks have LSD if it was built with one. Check to see if yours came equipped with it. It's an option.

I have 3.55's and no extras. I meant to say was when I Burn out my tires leave 2 black marks on the pavement, which is from the rubber superheating and leaving carbon deposits on the asphalt concrete. when i'm driving I know only one tire is turning, because when I do 360's in the dirt I can feel power going to one rear wheel only.

FazDak, is that spelled out for you enough? Do I need a set of crayons? What colors do you prefer?

Your a real comedian.

Your the one that cannot correctly convey your thoughts, why flame me?

BTW, its not carbon MR. Brain, its simply rubber on the asphalt.

now that is just about impossible. I have an open diff and I can spin both on the dirt but never both on pavement. If you can spin both on pavement you can spin both on dirt.

Fazdak, it is chains of carbon, they are called mers, and when there are many of them they say polymer. it is carbon cut with benzene or of some like. try taking a Materials Science class.

Jim...it is strange, and that is why I posted this message. I even jacked up the rear end of the truck and say only one wheel turn as the gas was applied.

If you got the rear off the ground and only one wheel spun, then you have an open rear end. The two black marks (which are little balls of rubber)are a freakish fluke. There's you answer.

rubber is a hydrocarbon--that is, it consists of the chemical elements hydrogen and carbon. Each molecule contains five carbon atoms and eight hydrogen atoms. In natural rubber, thousands of tiny isoprene molecules link up into a chain to form large molecules of rubber. Chemists call these molecular chains polymers.

Hence the carbon.

That's great. You still have an open rear end.

You can only "burn carbon" with one tire. I have no idea how the other carbon tire on your truck spins. Must be because it's so hard. It's made of carbon, you know?

If you have a 2001 Dakota, you should have a huge white sticker that will be wrapped around the axle housing just inside the left wheel. On the sticker it will either 3.21 or 3.55 or 3.92 in big block letters. Then if it says Trac-Loc with those numbers, you have the posi/limited slip/trac-loc rear end. If there is no sticker, you should look on the glove-box door inside. It will have a sticker that says 3.55 or 3.92 or 3.21 and if it says Anti-Spin or Trac Loc, you have a posi/limited slip/trac loc rear. Otherwise, you have a fluke on your hands.

--so a woman goes to her chinese dermatologist and asks what can be done to improve her looks. the chinese doctor looks at her for awhile and says that he can do nothing, and furthermore tells her that she has ed zachery disease.

frustrated the women asks what that is. the doctor replies; its when you face looks ed zachery like your @ss.
