It rained cats, dogs, fish, llamas, zebras, horses, cows, and sheep in Tampa today. The streets were so flooded, I could have made it home faster from work in a small dinghy. Anyways, I went thru a lot of water, and at times it may have been 6 to 8 inches deep. Now my engine light will not go out. Should I wait till tomorrow to see if it goes out, or should I worry about it now? It seems to run fine.

signed.... wet in Florida.

Is your computer showing any codes?

To check....follow this link:

http://www.speedtweaks.net/Tips_Tricks.htm#Codes_1998

I hope SpeedTweaks won't mind me posting their URL.

BTW, if you have a 98, this does work, atleast on mine it does...although I have never thrown a code so I am not totally sure if it works or not. The computer does run a check on itself though.

Hope this helps.

Mark

Did the same over here in Orlando too! There was a -lot- of water coming down. I was over getting a Flowmaster installed during it, they ended up telling me to come back because the guy they sent to get the muffler got stranded on the other side of Orlando when his truck went through a water puddle and died. :0/

Anyway, mine did that a few days ago, sort of. I had water in the ignition coil power feed, so I had real weak spark and multiple misfires. You probally just have water in a connection somewhere, it'll likely be dried out by tomarrow, but if not a little WD-40 will do the trick as it displaces the water then evaporates. :0)

when i use to go mudding i would get everything wet and muddy and throw the engine light but mine would never stay on. If there is like and autozone around they can use a scanner for free and check your codes.

Thanks for your inputs, but a little patience would have payed off. The light went out on my way home from work today. Now I can continue to grumble and gripe because "I could have had a V-8"
