Message: I have the same problem. 97 V6, 101k. At idle pressure drops. 4 years ago i replaced bearings and oil pump. The oil pan had a lot of sludge. For what ever reason, Mopar is notorious for sludge. I had also removed the valve covers and there was cooked on crud. The oil pressure issue hasn't changed. K&N filter and 10/40 maintains a pressure. 10/30 pressure drops even with a mechanical gauge.

Message: I just started having oil pressure problems on my '01 Dakota, 40K miles. Last night the oil pressure guage dropped to zero and the engine started to tick. This was at highway speed. I was close to home so I drove on.
Today it's the same - no pressure on the guage and still ticking. Dipstick level is fine. Obviously I'm afraid to drive it at all.
Any suggestions?

Message: I flushed my engine twice, changed the oil pump and filter, replaced the oil. Fine right, NOT! The oil pressure still drops when idling. Guessed what I did? Got me a Toyota! Traded the Dodge in, because they didn't want to honor my warranty and it still acts up. Sorry Dodge but I will never buy another one ever.....
