I just got a 2002 Dakota with a V-6 kinda wish i spent the extra money for the 8 but too late now. So my 6 is demanding more power i think he is ready to start playing with the big boys but dont have the balls to yet. So what i would like to find out is there any one thing that will do the trick. or do i have to give it 5 6 or 7 addons in order for it to be more powerful. if that is the case would it be better money wise to take out the 6 and put in an 8.
how are the chips i was looking at a 2nd stage but i havent changed out my exaust yet do i really have to? i guess i dont want to spent the money on something that will not work.
also not sure where to start also was considering turbo but can the 6 handle the extra PSI in the engine worried about blowing gaskets.
if i do deside to go go for the turbo is there a bolt on kit for the 6 or do i have to piece it together my self??

Go to www.speedtweaks.net. They offer the most stuff for V6 Dakotas. Also try www.dakota-durango.com. They have some cheap tricks you can do as well. You don't have to get a chip. You can relocate your IAT sensor instead for like $.45(read tips & tricks @ speedtweaks.net). If you want to spend over $1,000 then get the stage 5 kit @ speadtweaks.net. I would also add JBA 9mm power cables, Borg Warner cap & rotor, a single side exit exhaust system, and relocate IAT because I think the IAT adjusters are on hold. That will cost about $1,400 total. If you want to go cheaper get air intake from www.360airintakez.com, relocate IAT sensor, exhaust, MSD 6A ignition, coil, plug wires, Autolite copper 3923 spark plugs, and a 180 thermostat. That would total around $750. Or sell it and get the 4.7 ;)
p.s. I have a JET Stage 1 chip for sale that requires no mods. Let me know if you're interested.

Jim are you able to tell a diffrence on having the chip vs no chip how much of a diffrens does it make

It gives you 8-10 hp. I couldn't really tell at first but after I got my intake it made a difference. It cost $232.46 at www.truckperformance.com.
How much do you think is fair for my chip?
I used it for about 9 months.

well not sure if i want to get it yet i might go with the big add on at speedtweaks where you get the turbo 100 hp plus thank you though

has anyone put in a turbo in the V-6? did you do it yourself or take to someone? was it a pain to install? what kind of problems were there and what kind of mods did you have to do inorder for it to work? thanks for your help Im kinda new here and do want(need) some help - Im not a great wrench turner - anything else not a prob but under a hood is not the best place for me thanks anyway
