Subject: Info Please????? IP: Logged
Message: Hi I have a 99 2wd Dakota. It has standard P21575R15 wheels and tires. I really like the height of the 4x4. What is the eaisest way to raise my truck to this height or slightly higher? Would bigger wheels ,16 inches and/or larger tires help. I'm a little confused on lift kits and suspension lifts. Thanks in advance. Mark

Message: yes. bigger wheels and tires will raise your truck.
I had a 99 4x4 with the 31.5x10r15 tires and wheels. Now the 2002's come with 16" wheels and 265/70 tires

Message: A Body lift has to do with unbolting your bed and cab from the frame, and insert black "pucks" in between your body and the frame. Check on the raised and off-road board for more info and some guys have pics.

Dr. something, can't remember the name, has a slide show of how it is done. you could also go with a suspension lift, fabtech makes a 2wd 3" lift for daks

Message: fabtech does offer the best sus. lift but its $600 more than a body lift. dont forget that a body lift has bumper mounts and a steering column link. also if you are planning to add a brush guard, you are going to have to raise that also because it mounts to the frame which isnt lifted.
