Message: Mabey somewhere around 60 or so horsepower and 65 or more pound feet torque. If you really wanted to know go to www.truckperformance.net, look up your mods and do the math.

Message: I wish....I was actually thinking somewhere around 40 or so....That would put me at 215hp.235 would be close to v8 power. I would really like to be there. Anybody got any ideas on how I can add more without Nitrous, turbos or superchargers? I just don't have the cash for that now.

Message: Hey,
Ive got a little nitrous system you can have for $275, prewired ready to go. Its a "modified" sneaky pete kit. Brand new 2 lb bottle, 18ft of nylon feed line to reach the back of our trucks, comes with a .024 jet but you can run up to a .037 jet (40 hp) on our trucks without extra fuel enrichment(the stock injectors map just fine), i even made a custom switch panel with an NOS logo on it. Like i said everything is prewired hook up time wont be more than 15 min or so, just enough time to run the power and ground and the nitrous line to the intake. Let me know what youd like to do, i bought the kit new for $220 and replaced the 10 oz bottle with the 2lb bottle and prewired everything for quick vehicle changes. Ive only had the kit for 3 months now or so i think, only used it maybe 10 times if that. Let me know, $275 to the first response....had one person back out so please only respond if you really want it.
Thanks guys,
Josh

Message: take 450 you should try under drive pullys for your water pump and crank, dont change the alt pully, slow charge=slow truck. If you have not done so take the stock clutch fan of and replace it with an elec one. That really freed up a lot of drag from my 6. And last but not least try the comp or crower roller rockers 1.7 ratio, it will give you a little more lift and dur= more hp, good luck.

Message: okay, thanks mannyzamora. Were the crower roller rockers hard to install? What else have you done to your truck, and do you know your HP? I am just wondering if all this work is really going to get me up substantially or if I am just wasting my time.

Message: hey guys sorry to burst your bubble, but you can't "simply do the math" when it comes to HP. I estimate that you will only get about 15-25 HP with all those mods. when you start adding more mods all they do is work together and not give you mega HP....60 hp thats a laff.
If you want to feel like you have 60 HP from those mods then I suggest that you go and change your gear ratio...3.55's are kinda all purpose and are not for off the line power like you want.

Message: Alright, so should I go with some used 3.92's? Or go with the 4.10's? Is there a noticeable difference between the 2? I could propably find some 3.92's cheaper off of the net, thats why I ask.

Message: no do not get the 4.10's IMO. they waste alot of gas and really screw with your rpm's.
I have the 3.9's and i must say that that was the best mod I have ever done.
some may say the 4.1's are cool, but my friend has them and he has dropped his milage down significantly. sorry.

Message: kyle, PPL...you guys don't get it, upgrading ignition and plugs will not give you 5-10 HP on top of all the other mods, unless your truck has 30k miles on it and you have not ever changed the plugs....but then new plugs would only restore the power not gain.
F#ck ppl stop sounding like Ll Blackdak and learn before you post wrong statements that lead ppl the wrong way.

Message: do the math??,
i would also suggest an aftermarket ignition. No it wont add 15 hp like they want people to think (like you stated) but it does provide noticable power and much needed high rpm power. I have the msd 6a, 8.5 wires, blaster 3 coil. No it didnt add 15 hp + 10 hp + 10 hp like they want you to believe but my powerband did increase and it feels like it pulls stronger for longer. The power doesnt die off in the upper rpms.
Another mod i would have to suggest is 1.7 roller rockers. Easy to install and a good power adder. From about 2500 rpms to redline the engine pulls a lot harder. It seems like every mod on our sixes dont do anything with the bottom end but thats just a fact we are gonna have to face with them just having six cylinders.

Message: IntenseDak39, i agree with what you say. But what I dont agree with is that the ignition gives you more HP. I believe it 'stiffens' up your powerband and resolves gaps/lags/other issues in the powerband, which makes the engine more effecient.
1.7 rr are nice and does actually add power, ive done it...but its not for the weak of heart and not for ppl that do not know how to 'lash' correctly.

Message: do the math, lighten up!! Unfortuneatly some of our fellow dak owners tend to belive the advertisements just a little to much. some of the mods that we do to are engines will increse hp just a little. The everybody should think about is the effeciency of our engines. If you can make it breath better, spark better, spin with less drag, burn the fuel better, etc.. It will fell that you have gainned more power. In some cases you do gain a little but in realaty you just make it turn more effeciently. One thing that I have learned about these sixers is that they really like to breath. So if you people start doing mods to your engine start in that area. As in to take 450s ? on how much hp I am putting out, the answer is I do not know. What I can say is that with all the mods I have done to it, it runs really good from idle to redline, and then some. I am in the process of getting all the parts together so I can put a turbo on it. I am really in terested to see how this thing will run with about 12-15 lbs of intercooled boost.

Message: adding an aftermarket ignition doesnt just keep stock hp... it will add some (not much). The engines are dynoed with a stock ignition so an amplifier will add some... especially if you get everything right. Now it wont be as much as people hope but it also helps with additional mods (i.e. fuel enhancement).
