Subject: BERND!!>> quick question IP: Logged
Message: Will the jet stage 2 chip be compatible with 19# fuel injectors? I just got some injectors from fiveomotorsports and then read a post where you told a guy with a V8 that 24# injectors do not work well with the chip. I have a V6 with k&n cold air intake, v8tb, jba headers, jet stg 2 chip (just put it on), and delta 50 flowmaster exhaust as well. Are all of those mods compatible with the chip as well?

Message: #24 injectors probally don't work well with anything unless you have a Super/Turbo. It'll run -way- to rich otherwise. The 19lbs should work fine, since they aren't any bigger than stock, just better matched and with better 'spray'.

Message: Yes...the Jet Stage-II is compatible with the FMS 19# injectors (I was running them on my new engine with the Jet Stage-II). I'm now running 24# injectors (man they made a big difference) with the Jet Stage-II and it's still responding perfectly.
I know someone's going to ask so here goes: I installed the 24# injectors on my naturally aspirated engine due to the ported heads and (much) larger camshaft...I was having lean out problems with the 19# injectors and the 24# injectors totally cleared it up. Much better acceleration as well. For the stock engine...it's not required unless you're running a supercharger (or turbo).

Message: Dodgeboy: Like crap...my cam is about the same and the 24# FMS injectors REALLY woke it up.
Pistolero: The factory injectors on the 2000+ models are 21# (not 19#...we had a set flow-tested). The factory injectors on the 2000+ models can handle a bit more than the older models...all you'll need to upgrade to are the 24# Design-III injectors from the Lincoln Navigators (100% plug and play).
Sic: Yes...I use the Jet-II along with my IAT Adjuster (have to...I haven't had an IAT sensor on my truck for almost two years now). IAT Adjuster is set at 80 degrees.

Message: Okay... if the factory ones are 21#, if I want to change them out to the FMS and use the 19# injector set, I'm pretty much shooting myself in the foot? Based on this, after I install my F&B throttle body and a newer larger air filter, should I use the 24# injector set? And if so, is it the XR3E or the F5DE? Just going by design numbers the DIII for the 19# is the XL2E, so I would guess the XR3E would be the one to go with, as it fits the new gen magnums.

Message: I'm a bit confused now...Bernd, maybe you can clear this up a little more for us...this is the info in the email as I received it from Bruce Holt at fiveomotorsports.com...
"The D9B injectors are for earlier applications, pre-2000. The XL2E-19lb and XR3E-24lb injectors are the correct replacements for your 3.9. The XR3E, only after extensive mods."
Bruce Holt
I was under the impression that the XL2E 19# injectors would be the ones to use on regular 2000+ V6's in place of the stock injectors, given the fact that the 4 nozzle design is more efficient than the single nozzle design...but, you're saying that we should go ahead and use the 24# XR3E's anyway, even for mildly modded V6's? Would this cause a rich condition and throw a code?

| RE: BERND!!>> quick question IP: Logged
Message: The V6 and V8 engines use the same injector (minus two on the V6...obviously). Same injector works on both.
For a mildly modified V6...the factory injectors are more than plenty. Unless you've changed the cam, modified the heads, are running a supercharger, or a combination of those...there's no need to change them.

Message: So, let me make sure I have this right. Stock 2002 injectors are 21#, fine for mildly modded V6's...no advantage to changing to the 4 nozzle 19# XL2E's?
