Subject: Which Jet Chip? IP: Logged
Message: First, if this has been answered elsewhere, I apologize. I did search and didn't come across as detailed an answer as I would like. :)
I currenlty own a '92 Dak w/ 3.9L v6. The only mod on it currently is a low temp (180) stat. I plan on installing a K&M air filter and some Autolite 3923s. I always run premium unleaded (92 octane) in it.
I am interested in a chip, but I really am unsure whether to look into the Stage 1 or Stage 2 chip. What would those in the know recommend?
Thanks!

Message: You will find a lot of helpful information on the JET homepage FAQ section. Since you already are using Premium fuel octane, you are halfway to getting the Stage II chip. But I would wait until you have a free flowing, aftermarket exhaust system, including headers, before the Stage II chip. Atleast that is what their hompage will tell you.
The Stage I chip is for trucks without any mods. Since you have a K&N air filter setup and a low thermostat, you might not see much from the Stage I chip. For the best info, go to their site and study what they say.

Message: Man, that doesn't make sense, does it? Crud.
Sorry 'bout that. I have visited their website and checked it out. I was just a bit confused and looking for clarification. I e-mailed them and we'll see what comes back.
K&N!!!! Man, called it K&F earlier when talking to my dad. Gotta work on that. ;)
Thanks for the response.
