Subject: RE: LOW OIL PRESSURE AT IDEL....HELP IP: Logged
Message: My oil gauge varies up and down to the point off the bottom line. I've changed oil and put a good filter on and nothing has stop the fluxuation of the gauge. How hard is it to change the pump? I have 100000 miles so a timeing belt and pump might be ready.

Message: Not hard to change but you need to drop the oil
pan to do it
If you do be sure you also clean the screen in the
bottom of the pickup tube and flush the whole tube
out good with gas fuel oil or cleaning fluid and
than blow out with air.
Also prime the pump by squriting some oil in and
rotating it so it has a good start

Message: Are there any special things that have to be done to get to the oil pump? Lift the motor?? Also, does the oil pump just pull out after unbolting and do you have to align it with a dot or with the motor dead center? I guess I could go buy a book.. Thanks!!
