Message: alright heres the deal, i got my 180 thermostat put on the other day (i cant tell a difference, not saying that im supposed to or anything) but i noticed that when i start my truck up on a cold day and start driving it rips like hell, i hit the gas and i get great acceleration, but as soon as the truck warms up it slows down a bit. as i was looking at dakotas and dodge rams i noticed that alot of them have 160 degree thermostats. so my question is, would a lower temp thermostat be a good idea?
i remember bernd saying something about it but i cant remember, i want the facts if anyone can help me (bernd included)

Message: Do NOT run the 160 unless you're supercharged.
The problem you're seeing is the IAT sensor getting heat-soaked. Either relocate it to the intake tube or use the IAT Adjuster.
