Message: hi all,i have just done a v-8 tb swap onto my v-6 also.mine is a 96' and i got the tb of a 99'.i did not have to change any cables,even though the
hookups were in a slightly different spot on the arm.the gas pedal cable on both tb's were a ball
setup and the kickdown for the trany were both a disc clip-on setup.it is a great improvement over the v-6 tb.any suggestions on modifying the v-8 tb?thanks,chazman

Message: Gentleman, Gentleman;
I have 2 Dodge Dakotas a 1992 4x4 with the 5.2 v8 and 1997 2 wheel drive with the 3.9 v6. I compared the 2 stock tb's and both had the ball instead of the disk for the throttle cable. I was suprised that the 3 sensors were identical. I could have use the v8 tb off my 92 on my 97 with absolutle no modification.

92-93 use a ball style connector-- same as the 92-02 3.9L. Correct.
BUT-- your V8 TB is an OBD-I style, with idle ports in the bores, and will not function correctly on your 3.9L, OBD-II. I will run, but have an erratic idle, and possibly throw codes because it cannot find a target idle speed due to the idle port arrangement.
Just thought I would clear that up.
