I wondered the same. I also have a 90 3.9 automatic. I have been looking into changing my gear ratio and did not know if I should get a locker too, or if I already had a limited slip. Hope so.

Try going to a dirt road, trail. From a stand still, dump on the gas to spin the tires. Stop and look at your tracks. If there is only one tire track, you don't have a LSD. Typically, Chrysler LSDs take about 1 & 1/2 tire rotations to activate the LS. If you do have it one tire mark should start a bit after the first. Or you should have known when you bought it!

the ratio should be posted on a sticker under the hood in the 90 dakota. It should also say if it is open or if it has lsd. But if it doesn't then lift the back end up and spin one of the wheels, if the other wheel spins the same direction u have lsd, if it spins the opposite direction, then u have an open rearend. Or the easiest way to find out is to go do a burnout. If u have one tire mark, then u have an open, two tire marks u have lsd.
