..I think I may have bought chumpy gas or something. I run nothing but 93 octane in my truck. I have a 93 3.9. Well My truck runs fine but...when I start it ..it doesnt idle it sounds like this... BRUMMMMMMMMMM ppooot and thats it. It starts then it dies cause it isnt obtaining enough rpms. Its happend before but I rode it until it stopped.

my 97 had that problem for a while, (underwarranty) I took it in and it had a vacume leak, blew the intake gasket I think it said. Also, last night I pulled the IAC selenoid out and cleaned it like it said to on speedtweaks.com and it gave it smoother idle. I heard that using that 93 octance creates more carbon build up in the engine then 88, and thats what your cleaning off your IAC selenoid. Hope this helps.

Well...If I dont use that 93 octane my valves clatter. So I use the exspensive stuff. I dont have a manifold blown gasket. Its not a rough idle, but! It starts and dies like the rpm goes up and then it goes down. I might try and change my injectors.

i have dakII 94 v6 and run nothing but 87 hess gas, i can tow, lug the engine and whatever and never had a pinging problem. may i suggest u look elswhere for the problem not gas cause i have read on other posts in the past that higher octane gas can cause performance problems. so this is not just my humble opinion. good luck.

Man wierd stuff man wierd. Its like I get some bad gas from time to time and the pcm gotta retrain itself to cooperate right. It slowly gets better.

if its reving and then dying try getting a new intake gasket. when i replaced my TB i mistakenly put the old gasket back on, (i left the new one sitting right next to it), so when i turned it on she'd start but wouldn't keep an idle because the vacum was leaking. so check that and check all ov your hoses and such. a new gasket isn;t that expensive so jsut pick up a new one. try that. but it deffinity sounds like a vacum leak. but thats jsut my two cents
