Subject: IAT Locator IP: Logged
Message: I am new to modifing my dakota due to its just now getting out of warrenty. On this IAT relocator will I lose any antifreeze doing it, do I need to put pipe dope on the threads? What does it do to my mpg?? Also does anymake a power ECM sytem for the 3.9l auto besides jetcrap? If so where and how much?? Also where can I get just the crank pully and what length belt will I need? Much Thanks
97 3.9l auto, cold air intake, duals, tb spacer, 2/3 drop, 17" rims.

Message: Summit has the ASP crank pully and it's pretty reasonable (about $60). Works good for me.
As far as relocating the IAT, you will need a 1/4" NPT plug for the intake manifold. Just remove the IAT from the manifold, replace it with the 1/4" plug. Then drill a hole (about 6" from the throttle body)in your cold air intake and screw the IAT into it. Should be a snug fit so no pipe dope was necessary for me.

Message: Thanks for the info. I did that last night with the IAT, I think its a little more then 6" away from the tb, but their was already a hole their so I tapped it out bigger. So far I havent noticed a change :( I also pulled my IAC out and cleaned it cause I had irratic idle, fixed that, and then I ran my k&n thru the dishwasher (mom n dad were gone) and cleaned it. Will check into the pully next :)

Message: Whys that? I have done it with others, it worked fine, I just do it w/o soap, just using high pressure hot water.
