Message: The 40 series is much deeper than the 50, its designed to be. Better is a matter of opinion when it comes to sound. They are both equal in performance. I prefer the 40, but some do not like it so loud and get the 50.

Message: i don't know about the fifty series,
But i put the 40 series on my truck (97 3.9) and is sounds pretty good. I also put a catco cat on aat the same time. Its deep, and rumbles off @ idle, but remains relativly quiet, untill you rev past 3000, then it gets a little loud

Message: the guy at the top don't know what the hell he's talkin about. I'm from Memphis michigan I know all about exhaust systems. Do um for a livin. The 50 series is alot deeper than the 40 series but the 40 series is alot louder. on a v6 I recommend the 50 series, go to www.pnw4runners.net/exhaust/exhaust.htm to listen to different mufflers on a v6 toyota 4 runner. it's pretty much the same sound on most v6's.

Message: Why would we go to a rice burner web site to listen to an exhaust note when we have American trucks? Maye they'll have one on a rav 4 or better yet a tercel! Buy American.

Message: Dirkota, now be nice. They recorded the Tooooooyta so we Dak owners have the chance to hear one. After all, the toy owners already know what a Dak sounds like, they hear it all the time following them.

Message: If anyone is still trying to figure out which flowmaster, I have video clips that will give you an idea what the louder flowmaster will sound like on your 3.9 v-6.
I am not sure what series it is since someone had it installed for me but the muffler guy told me it would be loud and if I wanted to put the recommended one on he would swap them out. I still have the loud one. I think it is recommended for the V-8's.
Click on my link if you want to hear the louder type.

Message: I just recently installed a flowmaster 50 on my V-6 3.9l Dak. Just the other day i was filling 'er up and a guy who had the same Dak. but with a 40 herd me pull up. he said that he liked the sound of mine because it was really deep and sounded "powerful". he reved his up and it was a lot a lot louder than mine but it wasn't even close to as deep sounding. hope that answers your question.

Message: some of you people are retarded...the sound youget isnt just from the muffler itself, the size of the engine has A LOT to do with what you hear...so you cant just go to flowmasters site and think thats what that muffler will sound like on our trucks cuz most of those sounds if you didnt notice are cars with larger engines
