Message: I would go for the 360. By the time you do all the tricks to the V6, you will be about the same price and performance as the 360. Then there is potential for more HP. But that is me, and it is easy to spend someone else's money.

Message: $4000 for a 360 crate, then all the extra money you'll spend on all the V8 crap you will need. Plus, keep in mind, unless you are doing it all yourself, you will have to pay someone else a huge amount of labor. If you have the money, a spare vehicle and whatnot, go for it. I'm saving for a house so it will probably be a long time before I could justify performance part purchases. So, I'll eventually be doing a V8 swap. Oh, and you'll want to build up your transmission and rearend to handle all the added torque.

Message: Go for the 360. There is more potential for horses their. Plus it would cost more to get the same performance outta a v-6. Actually just go with a 440 and put a 14-71 supercharger on it. That ought to do just fine for ya :)

Message: For $4000...Cam, Headers, TB, Supercharger, and a better filter (along with a good CatBack system).
You'll be able to smoke a lot of V8's out there without any problems...in the V6.

Message: If you swap out the engine, you'll need a new VIN number...then, you'll need to change it with the insurance company.
As I said: Insurance is based upon the vehicle make/model/engine
