I can tell you a Mopar Performance shift kit doesn't give HP but it makes way better use of what you have.

I can chirp second no problem now and thats with steady gas pedal and it just keeps pulling, not that dreaded lag before or after the shift.

I was thinking, if I keep steady pressure (on the gas) and it chirps second why isn't that better than a stick because they have to actually rev a little higher into second to get the chirp.

OH, its called torque multiplication!!
Duh, and all those stick jockeys think their better. :-)>

Hope this helped, Scott

Yes...it will help out on performance but a shift kit and/or TQ converter do not increase HP.

Is what worth it? the shift kit? Oh yes for sure.

If your askin about a converter, possibly, you really need some high RPM mods to really get any benifit from a higher stall converter.
I dont know about yours but mine has a pretty good stall right from Ma Mopar.

I have $42.50 in my shift kit but then again I have a good connection for Mopar Performance parts and I installed it myself.

Hope this helped, good luck, Scott

I think Courtney will give anyone the same deal I get at the dealer I get my stuff from.

I will be working out that way next week and I'll drop in and ask em if they want any over the phone sales for MP stuff, I think I asked em along time ago and they said no problem but there would be some shipping of course.

Email me directly if you want the name and number of the dealer, after I clear it with them I'll fwd it to ya and possbly on DD.com if they want that much exposuer.

Smoother shifts?

Smoother shifts means the tranny is slipping which means it gets hotter which means you loose HP, get the idea?

If you want smoother shifts dont get a shift kit, they shift harder, I have never set one up in RV mode before, maybe it'll shift smoother that way but I'm guessing stock is the smoothest shift you can get.

Sic, the shift kit is mods done inside your tranny. custom valving and things like that uping fluid pressure a little here, a little there. some shift kits look like they change quite a bit of stuff out, and others dont look like they do as much. it all depends on your tranny.

46re tranny installation instructions
that'll give you an idea of what it intails

Damn dude, sounds like your confusing a shifter with a shift kit.

As DrOpOff stated it has nothing to do with the cab of your truck, it modifies how your auto shifts.

Do a little research before getting anything done please and for God sakes dont do DD.com research only!!

Good luck, again, Scott

What is better? The B&M shift improver kit, the Mopar kit, or the Transgo shift kit. Which is better for the money? Which is better for performance?

I am supprised B&M has a kit for AOD Mopars, Ive never seen one listed before. As for the TransGo and MP, Im told their one in the same.
ALthough....I see the transgo's almost double the price of the MP.

BTW, no faster off the line but alot better keeping speed between shifts.

HP gains from a shift kit + a big fat zip zero nada, no way no how.hp gains are in the engine not the gear reduction system.
