Subject: custom cold air intake IP: Logged
Message: ive noticed that a bunch of people have said they made their own cold air intake and im wondering how u did this and how much it would cost.
oh and whats the difference in power between the homemade ones and the brand name company's intakes??

Yes, I built my own ram air out of PVC and it looks really cool and it was really cheap but I didnt feel any difference after I put it on.
I only put it on to enhance my other real mods.
If you think about it for a minute realize what an engine does.
Its basically an air pump, the more air you can get in and out the better it will perform.
So figure a stock air cleaner system is a little restrictive then a free'er flowin intake of air will help but marginally.
Now add a good intake system to an engine taking in and expelling way more air than a stock air intake system was ever meant to handle and thats where you'll see major gains form a simple mod.
