Subject: Volant with K&N filter? IP: Logged
Message: I recently baught a Volant intake to replace my Homebrew set up (I wanted a cleaner look inside the engine bay) My question is: Is the K&N 6*9 filter less restrictive then the volant filter? If so should I just put the K&N on the end off my new Volant set up?

Message: Kent,
I don't know if the K&N outflows the Volant filter but if the K&N fits on the set up then use it if you like. My set up had no extra space. The filter closes to the front of the engine bay.

Message: All of the cotton gauze filters flow close to the same on a comparison. None will gain you anything more than 1-2HP max (on a good day) and a larger (or smaller) dent in your pocket book.

Message: Ok, I kinda liked the looks of the volant with the blue anyway. Bernd, on a side note my new throttle body was recieved and the transplant went extremely well! I noticed more power right away; even before the full PCM re-learn.
