Hi,
I am looking for anyone experienced in towing with their Dakota.
I have a 2007 with a V6 and am considering using it as my cross country tow vehicle. Seems like the V6 has the power to pull and everything specs out (GVWR) wise, but I am worried about will the transmission hold up under extended towing.
I have just retired and am looking to do some traveling pulling a 3,500 lb travel trailer. I need to make the decision or go to a full-size V8 tow vehicle.

I have a 2011 Dakota Big Horn 4x4 and we got a
trailer for camping. Even though it's just under
tow capacity, we got a Transmission Temp error and
the Check Engine light came on.
For cross country, I plan on getting something a
little bigger.
