Subject: No Headlights, Brake Lights or Dash Ligh

Message:
I have a 1995 Dakota SLT with a 3.9L V-6
(62,000) original Miles! Runs great but last
week when I got in and started it up I noticed
the BRAKE & ABS lights come up on the dash, I
shut it off and restarted and the same thing
happened. Then I noticed when I went to turn on
the headlights I had no dashlights, headlights
or brake lights (but interior dome light
worked)! I turned off the headlights and
noticed the BRAKE & ABS lights went off and the
Tach surged up then down, turn the lights back
on and BRAKE & ABS lights come back on and tach
surged up/down again! I have checked the fuses
under the hood and everything seems good.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any
info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in
advance!

I had a similar problem on my 94 a few years ago. Ended up being a corroded wire in the firewall plug under the brake booster. The whole bottom row of connector pins were badly corroded, and one of them was corroded off the pin. Bypassed the connector for that pin by splicing a same size wire under the dash, pushed it through the rubber boot, and spliced it under the hood. Hope this helps.
