Subject: Replacing Oxygen Sensor
IP: Logged

Message:
I need to replace the upstream driver-side oxygen
sensor on my 2002 3.9L. I can only partially see
the connector and there appears to be no way to
physically reach it to dis-connect (i.e., it is in
the area between the transmission and the cab
floor.) Does anyone know a way to access the
connector? I was thinking alternatively that I
could cut the wires at the sensor and splice to the
new connector. Has anyone done it this way?

No, you need to pull apart that connector.
If necessary, just pull on the cable to the sensor to bring the connection to where you can access it..
