 Subject: 2001 dodge dakota 3.9L v6 distributor in

I am having trouble with indexing my distributor
with their number 1 cylinder at TDC. I get the
number 1 cylinder on their compression stroke at tdc
and they distributor is completely way off.

Pull the distributor and rotate the rotor as close to number one
as you can and re install.
