Message: allright i got a 2003 dodge dakota 3.9l
automatic with about 110k miles on it. truck
seems to run fine when i drive normally,
when i put the pedal to the floor and make it
haul ass it goes good too it seems, but then i
hit a stop sign or have to stop for whatever
reason, now i give gas again to go and it
seems to be stuck in gear and will just
continuously rev. the only solution ive had is
to turn the truck off wait a couple seconds and
then turn it back on. ive tried messin with the
tv cable and that doesnt seem to do anything. i
dont think its the tranny cause it works fine
when i drive like a normal person. any ideas
how to fix this in my yard without endless cash

Message: There are a couple of things that could cause
that. I think the first thing to check would be
your front (or all) brakes. Make sure they're not
hanging up.
Next, think I'd check would be yer gov'ner. I
know the old 727 Torqueflight trannys, back "in
the day", the 2 speed GM or Ford trannys the gov
would stick due to a dirty governor. Then after
ya drove it a while, the trans fluid sloshing
around would wash the dirt back out and it would
shift normal again.

Message: I had the same problem with my 98 Dakota and it turned out to be the two transmission solenoid that sits behind the transmission filter. it would also be good to replace the filter (cheap) and also change out the transmission sensor that sits on the transmission casing.
