Subject: Fuel Pressure Regulator Vacuum line...

Message:
Question:: Does having fuel in the fuel pressure
regulator vacuum line indicate a bad regulator, or a
leak in the vacuum line.

I was going to do a pressure test, but there is no
schrader port on the '89 v6 tbi.

Yes, fuel in the regulator indicates a defective
fuel pressure regulator; it will have to be
replaced.

There is no schrader port on the '89 3.9 v6 TBI.
Connect a tee, with a schrader valve between the
throttle body and the incoming fuel line. There
should be 14.5 psi.

I replaced the fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter,
cleaned the throttle body, and cleaned the injectors
and replaced the o-rings. This fixed my problem.
Truck idles and runs great.
