I replaced my fuel injectors on my 1988 3.9 V6 Dakota I ordered V8 injectors and they were an easy swap, I doubt they actually helped performance any though. I think if I had replaced them with the V6 injectors it would be running just as good as it does now. It runs a little smoother but I think the V6 injectors would have helped it just the same. The V8's were cheaper than the V6's though, go figure.

I was wondering if the V8 injectors would give better performance but I think the V6 would have been as good. It does run smoother but the 88 uses the throttle body not the 6 injectors like the newer trucks. I have been getting slightly better fuel mileage as well. Again I think a new set of V6 would have done the same thing as the V8 injectors. There are only 2 injectors I got them from ROCKAUTO I ordered them for a 318/5.2 anyway they bolt right in and work great.

I hate to break it to you but all of the multi port injected truck
engines used the same size injectors.
