Can I take a stock 98, V6, auto rustang? I have a 92, V6, auto, RC, LB. Mods are, single 3" exhaust w/ flomaster 40 series, relocated IAT, and removed that plastic flap next to the radiator. I'm going to race this girl wether I can take her or not. I have been tring to get her to race me ever since she got it. She finaly accepted, so I can't back out now.
P.S.
Lesly, would I stand a better chance of dating her if I let her win?:)

yeah, if your like my 98 rc intake,v8tb,iat adjuster,180 t-stat, dual exaust, and the plastic thing removed. You should be able to beat her.
But, it will be a good race. She has a 3.8L so
omost the same size engine not sure of there HP, but i beat a girl in a 99 mustang v6 and we have now been together for like 2 years.
lol, she still drives that pos too.

i have gotten beat by 1 out of 5 v6 mustangs i dont know how the older daks are...i heard they are faster. but the last mustang i raced about 2 months ago i beat by about 1½-2 cars at 90......but i wouldnt reccomend racing past that as that guy started to catch back up.
i think it will be a close race if you dont beat her off the line or beat here through 1st then you proably wont have a chance, but thats just my truck i dont know how yours is.....but you should be able to beat a stock V6 mustang(esically if a girl drives it)
no offense to girls drivers SOME can drive but the majority cant =)
i have gotten beat by a sunfire driven by a girl just b/c she outdrove me, i raced her b/f same car and got a car on him.....even being an auto the driver still is a big part.....but i thnk she had NOS lol j/k i would have saw it blow up =)

im pretty sure that the 98 V6 stangs have 150 horses. i think you could take it but i doubt you could take a 99. my bro has one w/ exhaust and that thing is fast. i think itll fun 15 in the quarter. i just want to know if my bro's stang will beat my dad's 01 stratus r/t? should b goin to norwalk on sunday so ill let u know what i run and who wins. if it ever stops f-ing raining!

I'm not sure this girl is all that good of a driver, but you must never under estimate the compatition. Here are the specs on a 98 V6 mustang, 150hp 215tq, 1/4 mile 16.8@81.1, 0-60 in 8.9sec. Thank God it's a 98, in 99 they went to 190hp. Well, looks like all she has on me is, she's lighter and gets better gas mileage. I'm going to see if I can get the specs on my truck now. I'll post them if I find them.

i test drove a 2001 V6 with the auto... i swear that i got passed by a grandma on a walker! that thing was slow. I think a stock V6 Dak is good competition for one of those.
*i test drove it because i had to convince my girlfriend that it wasnt that great of a car... after the drive she agreed.

i didnt know they gianed more power in 99 but some guys v6 stang i raced last year i believe was a 01 but it was slow.....was a lil faster than my friends 94 but still didnt have that much take off
and with a 16.8 i know i could beat that i ran a 16.3 but my trucks not totally stock. i am hoping to be in the 15's next time at the track.
and with 150hp and ¼ 16.8 you should be able to beat her.
and is relocating the iat worth it? and if so what do i need to do it?

Well considering that it only takes about 5 mins. It's worth it. All I had to do was unscrew the IAT senser and put a 1/4in. bolt with teflon tape around it in the hole. Then I drilled a 3/8in. hole (didn't have a 1/4in. drill bit) in the side of the air intake tube thing(is that called the air hat?). Then I just screwed the senser in the hole. It does seem to help on warmer days. Doesn't really add any performance, just makes it run like a cool morning.

i have a friend that drives a 99 mustang and he is now getting envolve with the whole streetracing scene i would personally help him out but im in the import scene.
can you help us out by giving me some names of the best component parts for the stang like intake personally i thought short ram air was suppose to be good for domestics since it produces good bottom end power, and if you can help by telling us of good hp/tq producing aftermarket products such as headers,pullys,exhaust system,fuel injection upgrades, the whole nine yards.
we would be very thankful

There is no way to beat a v6 mustang. My friends girlfriend has an auto 1999 v6 3oth aniversery edition. It smoked me. like 6 car lengths in a quarter

My friend's 1996 stang five speed ran a BEST of 16.7(stock)when we went up to the track. It pulls pretty good for only being a six cylinder. I also have a 1992 Dakota v6 auto. It ran a BEST of 17.0(stock) on the same night. Montag, I'm sure you can take an automatic stang with your truck. There's the proof. I thought I could take him stock for stock, luckily I didn't bet any money on it!! Good luck.

I have a '99 RC short bed lowered 2in. in the rear, w/ a K&N, and a cheap aftermarket dual exhaust(now). I raced a 2000 Crustang V6. The guy beat me off the line but that was it. After about and 1/8 of a mile I was passing him on the straight. We went through a couple of stop lights that we had to turn at. I went around both corners about 45mph fine, the stang fishtailed on one. He followed me about 10 miles, the whole time around a 1/2 to 3/4 mile behind me.

he'll run 16.5's all day long. and thats it. i'm
tryin to convince him to put some mods on it jsut
cause i want some competition at work

in a couple of weeks there will be a Jet performance chip installed and an airaid cold air intake. then i will find out what i can do against my bros '84 Camaro Z28 w/ a slightly modified 305.

I Have Both A 1999 V6 Mustang and a 1997 V6 Dakota. My Mustang kicks the crap out of my Dakota! My Stang goes 0-60 in almost 1/2 the time my Dakota does, so if you ask me, everyone on this site is full of crap!

greg 555 man i would like to tace you sometime but im in tx and its a little bit of a drive. so you got a set of headers from JBA huh? i have looked everywhere and have not been able to fid any. how did you find them JBA.com or what? i already have a cold air intake on the way. my exhaust is just a cheap aftermarket set of duals for now until i get a little more done. i got tired of the silence. and also where can i get more mods as well the only place ive been able to find anything is on www.speedtek.net
