Subject: Need Help 1990 Dodge dakota sport IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1990 Dodge Dakota sport I always store in
the winter. It's a 3.9, had the top end rebuilt
about 40,000 ago and has always been a peppy
truck. Last winter I was driving on the highway,
struggling to get over 120 km/h. After turning it
off it would start but run at 150rpm but smooth.
After it warmed up it went to normal 900rpm. I
decided to do a tune up and when replacing the air
filter noticed a GIANT mouse nest. I removed it
all of course, replaced the air filter and sprayed
some throttle body cleaner in the throttle body
and drove it like I stole it for 15 minutes. The
truck still doesn't feel very peppy and will now
go over 120 but will really start to slow down in
acceleration above 130 where as before it would
accelerate up to 165 no problems. What should /
can I do to restore performance back to her?

Message: Maybe when you started it, it sucked the mouse or some of it's nest into the engine and clogged your exhaust?
