Subject: Truck wont start IP: Logged
Message: Ok so here is the issue's. It start with the truck not wanting to idle. I
had to start the truck and pump the gas to get it to run, I would
have to drive for about ten or so miles with one foot on the gas and
one foot on the break. At first I thought the fuel mixture was off
checked that it seems fine. Fuel is getting into the carb(at least it
looks like that, I forgot my Hansye manual in my dorm room over
200 miles away). I check most of the sensors around the carb
looked a little dusty cleaned them up a bit. Cranked her over and
same problem. I decided to reset the computer and took of the
cable to the battery. Woke up in the morning noticed I took off the
positive cable, stupid mistake, but I thought nothing of it.
Reconnect the cable, wont fire. I give it a jump it fires. From what I
read around different forums I thought I had to drive it around 500
miles for the computer to reset. I decided to go fill it up and take
the long way to the gas station. As I am driving it just dies, try to
turn it over nothing battery is dead. Called my dad for a jump he
comes jumps me and we start the drive back home. After driving it
for a mile it dies again. We are in a stop light so we cant jump (2005
honda pilots happen to have the battery on the same side as my
truck). So I tell him to push me so he does after I already got out,
out of nowhere the lights all come back on like nothing happens
had to start it like I usually do with pumping the gas. Got it home.
Following day I took the battery in for a load test. Its good. I am at a
huge loss and no manual to help. Sorry for the long read and thanks
in advance for the help.
'96 Dodge Dakota V6 magnum 100,000 miles on it. Replaced the
water pump and stereo on it.

Message: Ok I looked, it is wrapped in medical tape. Guess I will have to find
some way to get the tape off.
Once I do get it off like I said before what should I be looking for?

Message: You are looking for 3 wires spliced to one. Redo the splice. It
is known to corrode over time. This splice supplies power to
the fuel pump, ignition and PCM.
