Message: I have a 95' Dakota when driving it generally in deceleration (regardless of the speed at which I am decelerating has happened at 40 and 20 only common denominator being a lack of using the gas pedal) the engine dies out. I have occasionaly been able to prevent its death by fluttering the gas pedal and catching it before it has died out. If you are looking at the RPM it dips down to about 500 then jumps to about 1200 and then dies out. Following its death waiting about 30-45 seconds and turning the key everything she starts up and drives fine again for awhile then she will die off again. Doesnt always happen upon deceleration and sometimes it will go 15-20 miles before it dies sometimes it will go 2 no particular pattern to it. Obviously the problem is fuel related but not sure how to go about correcting it. Suggestions?

Message: Have you checked the splice just below the underhood fusebox? 3 red or red/white wires spliced to one. It is known to corrode and cause similar problems. It distributes power to the coil, fuel pump, and ignition I believe.
