Subject: 93 dakota AC/Defrost noise IP: Logged
Message:
I have a 93 Dodge Dakota 3.9L that makes a wield ticking noise when I use the AC/Defrost. I noticed the noise this summer when I tried to use my AC. I traced it down to the AC compressor. I stopped using the AC until I could get it repaired, since the noise stopped when AC was off. Now I just started to hear the same noise when I turned on my Defrost which I traced it back to the AC compressor again.
What is causing this and what do I need to do to fix this?
Thanks, Jer

Message: Did you replace the AC compressor? It sounds as if it is going bad. you can either replace it or bypass it. If it is going back when it does quit it will probably seize up and destroy your serpentine belt.
