Subject: Hidden vibration issue. IP: Logged
Message: I'm getting a vibration at almost any speed over 20 and it does not come through the steering wheel. The rear axle was just rebuilt and this still occurs(new bearings etc). 3 shops have balanced tires and say tires are fine(going to take it to the firestone with the new hunter alignment machine today). Front right hub assembly was replaced and the humming quit. There is a shake when i brake hard coming from the back almost like it has warped drums but like i said its been to 3 shops and they say all is fine(no pulsing pedal). Please help, my kids almost throw up anytime they ride with me lol. If you live in denton or irving you could test drive it for me lol.

Message: I've seen bad universal joints do that exact same thing.

Message: I had camera under truck and did not hear any clinking or clanking or see anything odd when shifting from drive to reverse. I really do hope it is just the tires somehow. Going to get the tires road force balanced today after work.

Message: Sometimes you won't hear them. The u-joints freeze up. They won't make noise or show any play but they sure will cause vibration.

Message: Thanks for being so nice lol. I put camera under so I could watch for vibration instead of jacking it up and letting wheels spin while its in the air. I don't see shaft vibrating but stupid truck shakes like hell.

Message: I just called the shop that rebuilt my axle, they didn't mention that my tires were cupped. He said they are cupped on the sidewalls. I felt them and they are not smooth at all. Guess time for new tires also. Stupid primewell.

Message: I don't listen to people that have anger issues lol. I had the driveshaft checked during lunch and it was not vibrating at all. Unless it only vibrates while on the road i'm really thinking its my warped looking tires.

Message: What is funny is that you would probably bet your life on my driveshaft. My friend is going to let me swap out my tires with his and if that fixes it then I will know for sure what it is. I hope your this nice to your customers.

Message: Vibration is fixed! The rear left tire was out of
round and the machine let the tire guy know.
Screw going to shops that don't have one lol. Tires
were under warranty so was only 46.00 for the two
new ones. They replaced both just to have two new on
rear.

Message: I have the same issue when i put the brakes on (
2007 dodge dakota, 4x4 , 3.7 ltr , 6 speed ). The
vibration doesnt happen all the time, but it does
happen more often than not. Ive replaced brake pads,
rotors twice, wheel bearings, tie rod end, and even
rotated tires to see if it was a bad tire. I even
took out the abs fuse to see if there might be a
problem there... no help with all of it. Would
replacing the u joints stop this kind of vibration
im talking about
