Subject: Anyone with 2002 V6? IP: Logged
Message: I did the V6 to V8 Tb swap and the installation went smoothly. After the install, I discovered that the V8 throttle cable was too long. This causes the accelerator pedal to rest closer to the floor and it doesn't allow the TB to open all the way. The V8 cable is about 3 inches longer than the V6 cable. Has anyone with a 2002 V6 done the swap and had this problem? I'm trying to find out if I received the wrong throttle cable. It's rather annoying having to drive a neutered truck.

Message: Hmm... I bought my cable from SpeedTweaks and the P/N listed on the package is 53031602AB This leads me to believe that I received the wrong part. Is there any way to find out what this P/N belongs to? Thanks for the input Dan!

Message: MightyDak: Looks like you got the wrong cable. Dan is correct on the P/N# and the one you listed is for a Ram (will get another one out overnight to you with a UPS pickup on the one you received).

Message: Just a little ego stroke for Bernd and RTDakota --
I got the F&B 48mm billet TB with the V8 linkage conversion for my sixer, and a big thanks goes to Bernd for shipping me out a cable for the new linkage. RTDakota (socaldakotas.com) gave me some great customer service on the TB when things didn't go as planned. I have yet to do the install but hey, at least I have all the pieces (yes the throttle cable was the correct pn).
These guys know their stuff, so take their advice when it comes to Dodge motors.
On a side note, I really wish Dodge (and most other domestic manufacturers) would adopt a parts naming system more like Honda -- so much easier to deal with! No cross referencing, no looking up in a DaimlerChrysler conversion manual........ ugh.

Message: Will do, Bernd! I'm looking forward to putting it on and seeing what a fully functional V8 TB will do for me. =)
The parts guy at the local Dodge dealership is a moron. He told me a V8 TB wouldn't fit on my V6. Wrong. He told me that a TB cable for the V6 and V8 were the same. Wrong. I've always got reliable info from Bernd when I've asked questions. I need a SpeedTweaks here in Wisconsin. =)

Message: I received my throttle cable! After a meeting this morning I went out and swapped out the cables. Much better. I won't be able to really test it out until I go to lunch, but I started her up and punched the pedal. Much nicer! Can't wait to see what she does out on the road! I should be receiving my Quick D intake early next week, so I'm looking forward to that as well!

Message: Very noticeable. I can feel the power throughout the powerband. I have to agree with Dan. It's definitely the best mod I've done so far. I would think it'll only get better when she starts breathing through a less restrictive intake than the stock one. I can't wait until the Quick D intake shows up! =) I'm planning on getting a Gtech Pro soon to get an idea of what kind of horsepower I'm putting out.
