Message: I have a 95 Dakota that is losing power as you
drive it. But if i put in neutral and turn the
key off and start it back up it regains all
power for a few minutes then it start over
again what can causes this.it just started
doing it at a idle as well. I put a new fuel
pump in and a throttle position sensor. I don't
want to spent a lot of money just throwing
stuff on it.And i just put new heads and gasket
set on it. and check engine is on but there is
no plug to hook to and I don't know how to read
the code when I cycle the key. Thank you for
your time please let me know what you thing
some are telling me the crank sensor not sure.

Message: My problem on my 99 Dakota turned out to be O2 sensor. So

Message: I was having the same problem as the original post. I did a lot of testing, some parts changing, and no one could figure it out.
It turned out to be the O2 sensor. I'd never have guessed. I was fairly desperate when I ran across this post and saw a few people mentioned it.

Message: Hey guys i have a 1992 dakota 3.9l that just dies no
more than 10 min after starting. This wasnt
happening
only after i changed the engine coolant temp. Is the
brand new ECT bad or maybe its the wiring cuz i did
re tape them found a little cut on the wire from
ECT.
Its 2 late 4 me to work on it but i will try
disconnecting the ECT to c what happens. Other than
that any ideas?
