Subject: spark/pump good/wont start IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2003 dakota, ran the truck the other day. Got up to go to work and the truck won't start. I here the pump priming when I turn the key, I have a spark. But there does not seem to be fuel at the throttle body. Shouldnt the throttle body side walls be wet with fuel? Could it be a rely. Where is the filter? Is it in the tank?

Message: ok I confirmed that I am getting fuel at the pressure test valve. I have not tested the pressure. Would that cause it not to start? I tried pouring fuel down the the air intake and no luck starting. Im thinking that their must be a relay for the injectors. Is there? Could the ASD relay be causing the issue?

Message: First thing to do is check for codes. If you poured fuel down the throttle body and it did not start you must not have spark.

Message: No codes. I turned key on/off two times then on. odometer reads P done. I assume that means no codes. I switched the ASD relay with a/c one(they r the same) and still no go. I tested the spark at the plugs and there is one. Apparently there is no injector relay. So how are the injectors controlled. I assume by the computer. Is that right? Maybe I did not put enough fuel in the air intake body. When I took the plugs out I could smell fuel. Might not be enough though. Could the timing be all off? How do I fix the timing?

Message: Is the spark nice and blue? You cannot adjust timing. Did you turn the distributor? If you did you probably got the injector sync way out and it will not start. The distributor tells the injectors when to fire.
How about a tune up? Have you done one recently?
If you pulled a spark plug and smelled fuel the injectors must be working.
