Subject: engine light IP: Logged
Message: my cad was replaced less then 1 year ago.
my light is back on after getting turned off.
what else can cause the light to keep coming on??

Message: Many reasons why the CEL can be lit. It will continue to stay on until your correct the problem. A little info about the vehicle in question would allow us to help you.
By the way, what is a "cad"?

Message: CAD = Computer Aided Design. I don't know of any Dakota that comes with such software.

went to autozone and
Catalyst efficiency low bank 1
explanation
the oxygen sensors monitor the catalytic converters ability to store oxygen
probable causes
1 catalytic converter defective (failure possibly due to #2,3 or 4
2 engine misfire or running condition
3 large vacuum leak
4 engine oil leakage into exhaust-value guile seals, piston rings

Message: narrowed to problem down,went to DEQ code 420 converter.
took to place who replaced converter and they said air/gas mixture was off.
one said 1.5 and the other 2.5 not sure which was air or gas.
they said one of them should read 0 or neg so its off.
99 club cab,3.9 liter 4x4 truck i have
