Message: does anyone know? the noise seems like it has gotten worse over time i think im not sure. its a 1992 3.9litre. one more thing, after it fires up theres a red oil light that comes on. usually it goes off closer to 5000 rpm or so. when i first fired it up this morning it went to 6000 right after i started to get the light off. and sometimes it comes on when i drive. i thinks its the little red oil container light. sometimes it dies if i dont stay on the gas for like 20 seconds when its cold at 5000 rpm

Message: Sir, your oil pump is shot. Next will be the engine! You do not race a motor when it is cold.

Message: Appropiate name. DO NOT rev your engine when you first start it.
First off, have you checked the engine oil level lately? That would be the first thing to do. the noise your hearing is most likely metal on metal rubbing/ grinding from lack of lubricant.

Message: You should never have to touch the gas when starting a fuel-injected vehicle. And you are doing the best job anyone can do of destroying your engine (assuming this is not a joke).
