Subject: Swapping Dashboard Issue IP: Logged
Message: Hey,
So i have a 2003 dak 3.9 standard trans, and i went to replace
the instrument cluster with one from a junk yard.
My vehicle has 160,000+ miles on the clock, when I put the
other instrument cluster in, it had the mileage from the junkyard
vehicle...about 105,xxx miles.
As soon as I saw the mileage, i said my usual curse words, took
it out and replaced it with the original one that was in the truck,
and i was back to 160,xxx miles. I didn't drive it for fear of
changing the mileage on the PCM without the old dash being in.
Does anyone know how to get the mileage on the dashboard to
what it's supposed to be?

Message: So since no one helped me, and I got the problem fixed, let me
explain what I did.
I took the dashboard to a speedometer shop out near lancaster
PA
http://www.powls-speedometer.com/
They took the junkyard dashboard apart, set the correct mileage,
for a little over $100.
They said that they can run the dashboard odometer up no
problem, it's just turning it backwards where they would need
VIN numbers galore from the truck it was going into, the truck
the dashboard came out of, etc to turn an odometer back.
Luckily, I only needed the dashboard pushed up from 105,000-
160,000+
Customer service was great, and if anyone finds themselves in a
situation like I was in, give them a call.
