i live in the midwest, i have a 02' 2wd V6 dakota extended cab with 6' bed, i was looking at getting tire chains for the winter, anyone have any recommendations for chains? I was looking for something fairly inexpensive, but effective. Or would putting chains on my 2wd help at all?

I have the same truck. I recommend studded snow tires. I went with the Hankook brand. I've had excellent luck with them. The tires stay soft in the cold weather and the studs help on the ice. I also carry chains, but haven't needed them. Oh, and I also carry 350lb of bagged sand.
