Today was the first chance I've had to highway drive since I put my intake on.... there was an open stretch of road with next to no traffic so I stepped on it. I got it up to 165 kms./hr., there's no way it had any more to give. Can't wait to get my headers & TB on.
97 3.9 V6 Sport Club Cab. Black.

So, is doing 100 mph in Canada illegal? I've heard you guys have all the special laws & stuff. I thought maybe that'd be okay with the local po-po. Some days I do 85-90 down here in Atlanta on the way to work, but the po-po don't dig it so much.

actually around here (MI) if you cross over into canada the speed limits are really low compared to michigan's freeways. the top speed in ontario is like 100kmph(~62mph) i think, and in MI it's 70mph or if you're on I69 between Port Huron and Flint it's whatever your speed limiter is set at or whereever you run out of gears or power :p

Oh- it's okay. I won't tell. Me & the cops, see, we have an agreement. It's a little game we like to play called "don't ask, don't tell." If they don't try to find out how fast I was going (like, as in not using radar or a laser on my truck), then I don't tell them that I was doing about 95-100 right before I saw the cop up ahead and dumped on the brakes. It's a fun game, but sometimes, they find out how fast I was going anyway. Eeeek!

I tried that game before. Cost me $152 because I forgot to turn on my radar detector. County mountie got me at 81mph in a 55. Sucks!

In Atlanta, there are so many false signals (grocery store checkouts, motion detectors, radar from airports, etc) that a detector is uselesss. There are, however, a LOT of the concrete walls (Jersey Medians) down the center of the interstates. With these in place, you only have to look for half the number of cops, right? So with the average speed of traffic already ripping along at the usual 70-75 (all this in 55 mph zones), it's easy to slow down from 95 and not look conspicuous. It's kinda fun. The only time I get scared is when I get outside the city and those concrete walls go away. Then you've REALLY got to keep lookin out. That's where they'll get you!
