Subject: What Kind of Muffler? IP: Logged
Message: 99' 3.9 V6 4x4 stock muffler
I want to put a different muffler on my truck that has some throaty noise to it. I don't want the loudest thing out there, but something that's got a little noise to it that you can tell it's NOT stock. Any suggestions? I was looking at flowmaster 40 series or Dynomax Ultra Flow... I just don't really know what to get.

Message: I think the Dynomax/Walker 17748 is a direct replacement with a little throatier sound.

Message: This comes down to personal choice (sound).
Figure out what muffler has the sound you like &
want and buy it! Take the time to measure yours and
note of inlet and outlet sides. Adapters can be
bought at parts stores to help with installation if
needed.
